Prescriptions

A repeat prescription is generated by handing in, posting, or faxing the counterfoil attached to your previous prescription. Please use the counterfoil wherever possible and give us 48 hrs notice.  Hand written or "urgent" ones (? forgotten) slow up the system, and can delay the duty doctor.  Please read "Private medicine and Dukes Avenue Practice" if you have been to see a private specialist.

There are a number of options to make obtaining repeat prescriptions easier for you. Most of the local pharmacies offer a collection and delivery service whereby they will order your medication and collect the prescription from the practice. We offer a direct on line ordering service which means you can order your medication on line and then collect the prescription 48 hours later. We are also now offering another option Pharmacy2U. This company will order your medication and then arrange for it to be posted to an address of your choice. If you are interested in any of these options please ask for more details at reception.

We are now able to offer a new service whereby certain patients can have medication prescribed for up to 6 months in advance.  This is only possible if you are on certain types of medication which are likely to remain unchanged for a long period of time.  Please ask at reception for details.
